Welcome to the Canadian Muslim Economic Development Association (CMEDA). By applying for membership, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not submit your membership application.
- 1. Eligibility
- Membership is exclusively for Muslim-owned businesses that declare at least 51% Muslim ownership and control.
- Applicants must have significant operations or activities in Canada or be professionals, individuals, or businesses contributing to CMEDA’s mission.
- Membership applications are subject to review and approval by CMEDA. CMEDA reserves the right to verify information provided in membership applications.
- CMEDA reserves the right to request additional documentation or information to verify eligibility and membership criteria, including but not limited to ownership details and operational scope.

- 2. Membership Benefits
- Membership provides access to CMEDA’s network, resources, and funding opportunities.
- Membership does not guarantee funding or other specific outcomes, which may depend on additional eligibility criteria or application processes.
- Members may be invited to participate in CMEDA events, programs, and initiatives at CMEDA’s discretion.
- Some features or benefits of CMEDA membership may not yet be fully available as CMEDA continues to develop its platform and expand its offerings. Members will be notified of updates as features are introduced.
- 3. Membership Responsibilities
- Members must provide accurate, truthful, and complete information during the application process and update CMEDA promptly if their circumstances change.
- Members are prohibited from using CMEDA’s name, logo, or resources in a way that could misrepresent the organization or its mission without prior written consent.
- 4. CMEDA’s Authority
- Membership Removal: CMEDA reserves the right to suspend, revoke, or terminate membership at its sole discretion if a member:
- Provides false or misleading information during the application process.
- Acts in a manner that is inconsistent with CMEDA’s mission, values, or reputation.
- Uses CMEDA’s name, resources, or network for unauthorized or harmful purposes. Â
- Administrative Actions: CMEDA reserves the right to make administrative changes to membership terms, benefits, or criteria as needed to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Verification Requirements: CMEDA may request additional documentation or information from members at any time to confirm eligibility, adherence to membership criteria, or alignment with CMEDA’s mission. Failure to provide requested verification may result in suspension or termination of membership.
- Event Participation and Access: CMEDA retains the authority to grant, limit, or revoke access to specific events, programs, or resources based on eligibility, conduct, or availability.
- Discretionary Decisions: CMEDA’s decisions regarding membership and administration are final and binding. Members may request clarification or review, but CMEDA retains ultimate authority over all determinations.

- 5. Privacy and Data Usage
- By applying for membership, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your personal and business information as described in CMEDA’s Privacy Policy.
- CMEDA may use your information to communicate with you about membership benefits, events, and opportunities.
- Members may unsubscribe from communications at any time by following the instructions provided in our emails.
- 6. Membership Fees
- CMEDA membership is currently free for eligible Muslim-owned businesses.
- CMEDA reserves the right to introduce additional services, certifications, or value-added offerings that may incur fees. Members will be notified of any such changes in advance.
- 7. Termination of Membership
- CMEDA reserves the right to terminate membership at its discretion, including but not limited to cases of:
- Violation of these Terms and Conditions.
- Actions that misalign with CMEDA’s mission or values.
- Failure to provide requested verification or documentation within a reasonable timeframe.
- Providing false or misleading information during the application process.
- Members may voluntarily terminate their membership by contacting CMEDA.
- 8. Liability
- CMEDA provides resources, information, and services to members on an as-is basis. CMEDA makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or outcomes of using these resources.
- CMEDA is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from membership or participation in its programs.
- Members are responsible for conducting their own due diligence when acting on information or opportunities provided by CMEDA.
- 9. Modifications to Terms and Conditions
- CMEDA reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on the CMEDA website, and significant changes will be communicated to members.
- Continued membership after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
- 10. Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in accordance with Canadian law.
